23 Weeks & New Baby Name

Today I am 23 weeks pregnant. 119 days to go or 3 months 26 days until March 25th.

Our little gummy bear is now approximately the size of a pomegranate/ mango - approximately 11 inches long & just over a pound.

SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!

Josh and I have picked out a new girl’s name! These surprises just keep getting better & better. ;)

Full story – Originally we had told my parents, Josh’s parents & my sis a girl name and a boy name. Then we picked a new boy name and decided to keep that a surprise. Now we’ve chosen a new girl name and that will be a surprise as well. REMEMBER at first we were not going to find out if we were having a boy or girl until he/she was born but now on Dec 4th we will be finding out. We’re keeping that a surprise too. SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!  =)

The girlies have really been asking us to tell them the names and they keep saying they’d keep it a secret but when I told them that the boy’s name is Pookey they told Daddy – so we’re not telling them. ;) LOL

Total weight loss/ gain? 17 lbs.  (Read one of my pregnancy apps today and it said at this point I may have gained between 12-15 lbs. so I’m still over that but depending on my next appointment I hope I’m not up too much more. I know I definitely need to be eating better! Thankfully I have my Medical Weight Loss on hold for after baby (not that I should be using that as an excuse BUT)

Maternity clothes?  I have 2 pairs of jeans, one nursing bra, & one sleep bra. I can wear most of my shirts that I normally wear – some are getting shorter and some show off more of my belly but they still fit.

Sleep? Love having my heating blanket - still have the craziest dreams. Hope those go away soon.

Best moment this week? Deciding on a new GIRL name & Josh feeling the baby move.

Movement? Lots more movement thankfully! Josh has been able to feel it and the girlies hopefully will be able to see if soon because they don’t have enough patients to keep their hand on my belly to feel it.

Food cravings? Nothing sticks out – but I feel hungrier it seems like than I remember with the girlies.

Food aversions? Veggies, Plain Chicken, Some types of Pizza

Gender? Josh and I will find out on Dec 4th. The world will know when Gummy Bear is born if he/ she is a he/she =)

What I am looking forward to? More movement & my 2nd ultrasound on Dec 4th.  Anxious to see if my placenta has moved at all.

Labor signs? Thankfully none.

Belly button in or out? Will be in for the whole pregnancy. - More and more people have noticed my belly sticking out though.  =)

How your baby's growing:

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her/his sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's/he’s more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her/him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her/ him for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her/him when she/he hears them outside the womb.

22 Weeks

22 Weeks

Today I am 22 weeks  pregnant. 126 days to go or 4 months 5 days until March 25th.

Our little gummy bear is now approximately the size of a papaya/ spaghetti squash.

I got a call from my nurse on Thursday and I've got to make sure I'm not doing anything strenuous or any heavy lifiting, vacuuming because I have partial placenta previa.

Partial Placenta Previa

I'll find out Dec 4th at my next ultrasound to see if my placenta has went up any - or if at that point if I'd have any more restrictions at all.

Total weight loss/ gain? 17 lbs

Maternity clothes?  I bought another pair of jeans with my birthday money. I also got 2 nursing bras - one fancy and one for sleeping. I feel like I'm alot bigger in that region than with the girlies - so I posted a status that I got 2 nursing bowling ball holders because that's what they feel like somedays. HEHE

Sleep? Love having my heating blanket - still have the craziest dreams. Hope those go away soon.
Best moment this week? Feeling gummy bear move more. I guess also deciding that we're going to find out what we're having now. Still not sharing with the world but I'm getting anxious to find out. We're going to go shopping right after to buy a going home outfit. =)  - I'm anxious for my ultrasound to find out if my placenta has moved up at all.

Movement? Lots more movement thankfully but still waiting for more - plus I really want to have Josh and the girls feel it.
Food cravings? Nothing sticks out really this week but I feel like I feel alot more hungry than I did with the girls.

Food aversions? Nothing major. I haven't eaten much veggies though or fruit =(
Gender? Josh and I will find out on Dec 4th. The world will know when Gummy Bear is born if he/ she is a he/she =)
What I am looking forward to? More movement and my 2nd ultrasound on Dec 4th.
Labor signs? Thankfully none.

Belly button in or out? Will be in for the whole pregnancy. - More and more people have noticed my belly sticking out though.
Milestones?
from babycenter.com ...
At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

Boy or Girl?

IS GUMMY BEAR GOING TO BE A

My 3rd ultrasound is scheduled for December 4th - at the appointment they will check my placenta to see if it has moved up any, check the anatomy of the baby that they could not see at my 2nd ultrasound, and then Josh and I finally "kind of" came to a compromise...

We're going to find out what we're having - That is if gummy bear shows us.
BUT - Sorry we're not telling the world.

This was a hard decision for me because I really really really wanted to be surprised but it will still be fun to see the girlies faces when they see FIRST if they're having a brother or sister. <3

Nurse Update

I called my nurse back today and I have "partial placenta previa"
This means that my placenta is lower than it should be so I have another ultrasound scheduled for Dec 4th to see if my placenta has moved up to where it should be.

I have attached a link below that explains it pretty well.

http://www.babycenter.com/0_placenta-previa_830.bc

For now she wants me to make sure I'm not doing anything strenuous / heavy lifting / no vacuuming, etc. She will call me back if I have any further restrictions.

This issue could clear up altogether which is what we're hoping for but I'll know more at my next appointment.

Birthday's & 21 Weeks

We celebrated a lot of Birthdays -
Mason Thomas Miller - 5 Years Old - October 8th
Faith Elizabeth Miller - 11 Years Old - October 16th
Me & My Twin Sis - Amber Rose VanderBilt - 29 Years Old - November 11th - I lost my ring SUPER bummed, but Josh took me to dinner on Monday night to Northern Trails so that was good - LOVE there provolone cheese sticks!
Thank you everyone for the birthday gifts & wishes.
Jasmine Charlee Miller - 5 Years Old - November 14th - We got Jasmine Monopoly Jr and a Pink Monkey Hat. She was also very spoiled by family.
We celebrated all together this time because we weren't able to do anything in October. We had Thanksgiving Dinner at Jill & Jerry's and then got our family pictures taken. (See Facebook for pictures)
Steven Michael Sower - 5 Years Old - November 14th  - The girlies were invited to Steven's Pirate themed birthday party and they had lots of fun.

Today I am 21 weeks and 1 day pregnant. 132 days to go or 4 months 11 days until March 25th.

Our little gummy bear is now approximately the size of a carrot or spaghetti squash.

Maternity clothes? One pair of jeans that I wear almost every day ;) Might buy another pair soon with my birthday money.

Sleep? Having a heating blanket that works helps a lot. I still have crazy dreams though.

Best moment this week? Feeling gummy bear move more
Movement? Lots more movement thankfully but still waiting for more - plus I really want to have Josh and the girls feel it.

Food cravings? Nothing sticks out this week

Food aversions? I can eat certain kinds of chicken but just not plain chicken. We had Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday and most foods didn't taste how I thought they would - Josh said it must be the pregnancy because he liked it all.
Gender? Baby will be known as gummy bear until he/she is born. (In case you don't know the story...the reason for the gummy bear nickname is because when I had my 6 week ultrasound the technician said your baby is the size of a gummy bear…so it just kind of stuck)
What I am looking forward to? More movement and my 2nd ultrasound on Dec 4th.

Labor signs? Thankfully none.

Belly button in or out? Will be in for the whole pregnancy. - More and more people have noticed my belly sticking out though.

How your baby's growing:

Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well.

How your life's changing:

You're probably feeling pretty comfortable these days. You're not too big yet, and the usual discomforts associated with early pregnancy are, for the most part, gone. If you're feeling good, relax and enjoy it while you can — the third trimester may bring with it a new crop of complaints.
That's not to say you won't have some minor glitches to deal with now. For example, increased oil production may contribute to the development (or worsening) of acne. If that's the case, be diligent about washing well with a gentle soap or cleanser twice a day, and make sure that any moisturizer or make-up you use is oil-free. Don't take any oral acne medications — some are very hazardous during pregnancy — or use any topical acne products without first checking with your practitioner.

You're also more prone to varicose veins now. As your pregnancy progresses, there's increasing pressure on the veins in your legs; higher progesterone levels, which may cause the walls of your veins to relax, can make the problem worse. You're more likely to get varicose veins if other family members have them. Also, they tend to get worse with each successive pregnancy and as you age. To help prevent or minimize varicose veins, exercise daily, prop up your feet and legs whenever possible, sleep on your left side, and wear maternity support hose.
You may also notice so-called spider veins (a group of tiny blood vessels near the surface of your skin), particularly on your ankles, legs, or face. They may have a spider- or sunburst-like pattern with little branches radiating out from the center, they may look like the branches of a tree, or they may be a group of separate thin lines with no particular pattern. Though they may be a bit unsightly, spider veins don't cause discomfort and usually disappear after delivery.

Ultrasound & 20 Weeks

20 Weeks

We had our 20 week ultrasound today. We'll have to have another Ultrasound on Dec 4th because gummy bear was moving around so much they couldn't get good pictures of some of the anatomy. Tha'ts fine with me - as much as I can see the baby the better. Pictures posted below.

Today I am 20 weeks pregnant. 140 days to go or 4 months 19 days until March 25th.
When I first found out I was pregnant I was given a due date of April 1st. Then at my 1st ultrasound they said it moved my due date to March 25th. At my ultrasound today the Dr. said they have my due date still recorded as April 1st which would make me about 19 weeks but they said the baby is big and the measurements put me at around 20 weeks. They said they are going to keep my due date as April 1st but I'm just going to keep it at March 25th.

Our little gummy bear is now approximately the size of a large banana.

Total weight loss/ gain? This makes me mad. It's totally my fault but everytime I start to loose weight and eat right I just fall back again and gain. I hate even saying this but my total weight gain is 17lbs. That's just ridiculous. Tomorrow I guess I start over again for like the 100th time. So my 1st weight gain was 3 lbs and then since my last appointment which has only been 1 month I'm up 14. YUCK YUCK YUCK. Of course going from Medical Weight Loss diet to basically no diet that's what happens. Need to make sure my weight gain stops. The dr I had today at my ultrasound just said make sure i'm not eating for two. I'm not really eating for 2 I'm just not eating the way I should be or the right things. I do feel like I've felt more hungry with this pregnancy though.

Maternity clothes? One pair of jeans that I wear almost every day ;) Might buy another pair soon with my birthday money.

Sleep? Having a heating blanket that works helps a lot. I still have crazy dreams though.

Best moment this week? Seeing Gummy Bear on the ultrasound - some pictures look like there are smiles on the baby's face. WCSG was playing in the ultrasound room and hearing "Oh, how He loves us.. He loves us, Oh how He loves us.." felt amazing.

Movement? I feel more movement at night when I get up to go potty. After the ultrasound today I'm thinking the movement I feel is punches rather than kicks but I'm not sure.

Food cravings? I alway feel like McDonald's burritos - probably 1 of the many reasons of my weight gain.

Food aversions? We went to Logan's the other night for dinner and I ordered the Grilled chicken with Parmesan Peppercorn Dressing - couldn't eat it. The dressing didn't diquise the chicken enough.

Gender? Baby will be known as gummy bear until he/she is born. (In case you don't know the story...the reason for the gummy bear nickname is because when I had my 6 week ultrasound the technician said your baby is the size of a gummy bear…so it just kind of stuck)
We didn't see any parts on the ultrasound today. I'm thinking even if we would have wanted to find out we may not have been able to because baby was face down most of the ultrasound.

What I am looking forward to? More movement and my 2nd ultrasound on Dec 4th.

Labor signs? Thankfully none.

Belly button in or out? Will be in for the whole pregnancy.

Milestones? 20 weeks - Whoo hoo! Half way done.

Video - Can you see the head, belly? See the arm moving? =)
