Josie's 1st official dentist appointment was today. We took her at the end of January to a dentist in Belmont but they referred us to a pediatric dentist instead.
We went to Hamilton Pediatric Dentistry off East Beltline. It was great. Josie loved the toys and the staff was wonderful. Definitely worth going to a pediatric specific office.
I kept asking Josie if she was so excited to go to the dentist in hopes that she'd not feel scared, etc. I think it helped a lot. Although she does well in many different situations so I wasn't too worried.
She did awesome. I did have to have her sit on my lap during x-rays and cleaning but she just kind of got a little scared. She didn't cry. She acted like a pro during x-rays. She got to pick out her toothpaste flavor so she picked chocolate. =)
She was happy to pick out a prize at the end along with a sticker, Minnie toothbrush, floss, etc.
The unfortunate news is that she has 7 cavities and 1 tooth needs to be removed. Bad Mom Award right here! We've not been consistent with a brushing schedule. Feel horrible. She will need to be asleep when they fix it all. She'll also need a spacer to make sure that the next tooth comes in properly (from where the one is being taken out).
I'm so glad she did so well, but like always lesson learned on making sure we keep better care of her teeth. Abby & Jasmine have appointment Wednesday so I'm assuming we'll hear similar stories.
Here are some cute pictures of her visit.
We won't know when her next appointment is until the dentist office calls back.

Josie thought the Chocolate was already on the toothbrush
Love this one. They gave her these sunglasses for the bright lights. Cutest pic ever!
